Tom prepared for a Real Estate career by earning a "Certificate in Real Estate" from Riverside City College and Mt. San Antonio in Walnut Creek, California.  He earned his Real Estate Salesperson's License in 1976 and his Real Estate Broker's License in 1982 - CA DRE # 00577085.  From 1976 until 1982 he worked as a Mortgage Banker with Mason McDuff Mortgage Bankers in Santa Ana, California. He moved to Oakhurst and started Oakhurst Mortgage and Oakhurst Real Estate in 1982. 

He is a member of Mountain Christian Center, Mountain Ministerial Association, Yosemite Gateway Association of REALTORS® , California Association of REALTORS®  and the National Association of REALTORS®

Tom became Assistant Chairman of Manna House in 1998, and was named Chairman in 2007.
